Veridt Stealth Series Readers offer the most innovative set of communications choices to facilitate implementation of both traditional and trusted PACS, as well as optimizing performance.
Standard hardware configuration includes both Wiegand and Serial communications.

Binary Reader Service for use with HID PAM: Binary reader service is a proprietary communication protocol allowing communication between all of the Veridt reader hardware platforms and the HID PAM pivCLASS Authentication Modules (PAM) enabling physical access control systems (PACS) to perform FICAM compliant operations as part of a FICAM trusted PACS solution. The PAM is installed between the Veridt Stealth reader and access control panel and provides configurable Wiegand output to the controller.
Veridt Reader Service for RS-485 serial communications and for use with Veridt’s EWAC: Veridt Reader Service is a proprietary communications protocol that provides simplified approach to set and alter the reader’s authentication mode (e.g., Card only to Biometric authentication modes). When connected to the Veridt EWAC communications interface, the Veridt Reader Service enables physical access control systems (PACS) to perform FICAM compliant operations as part of a FICAM trusted PACS solution. The EWAC is installed between the Verid Stealth reader and access control panel and provides Serial communications to the reader, Wiegand formatted data to the PACS panel and Ethernet communications to the server.
OSDP™: SIA Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP™) is a communications protocol that allows peripheral devices such as card readers and biometric readers to interface with control panels or other security management systems. Security Industry Association (SIA) has developed this protocol to foster interoperability among security devices. OSDP is available for traditional PACS applications and in development for Trusted PACS FICAM compatible applications
In keeping with Veridt’s commitment to provide the highest level of flexibility and innovation Veridt also offers OSDP as another communication option which may be desirable for certain applications.
HARS™: Veridt’s High Assurance Reader Service (HARS™) is an optimized protocol to maximize performance for Trusted PACS FICAM compliant solutions where authentication speed is important. This protocol was specifically developed for the GSA FICAM Topology 13.02, the so-called “single – wire solution”, and was a joint development effort with Veridt’s Technology Partner Technology Industries.
Physical Access Controls Systems (PACS) have evolved from the traditional card based system to today’s standard in high assurance access control which we define as trusted PACS. Traditional PACS relies on a card identifies of some type (e.g., card serial number or other Unique Identified) to enter into the access control data base and compare when the card is “read” by a card Reader or sometimes referred to as terminal. Readers operating in this “so-called” transparent mode output classical Wiegand format. Veridt readers provide Wiegand outputs in any required format compatible with all PACS systems.
Government Standards initiated by HSPD-12 and implemented through FIPS 201-2 and FICAM (Federal Identity Credential and Access Management) certified solutions utilizing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) – based high-assurance credentials define the high assurance ecosystem.
Trusted PACS is setting the standard in the future of access control. Trusted PACS is a credential based approach which combines card integrity and cardholder identity to insure the highest level of security in determining access. Certificate validation insures the card has not been tampered is valid while identity management features provide the essential elements of identity authentication and verification.
The Stealth Reader family unified design architecture simplifies implementation of various security scenarios: a single communication protocol applies to all hardware platforms, multiple communication choices can readily be selected and applied, controlling authentication modes simply for easy implementation of security plan decisions.
Veridt’s readers enable the most comprehensive set of Trusted PACS solutions with from choice of access control systems to certificate validation software that best fits your requirements, enabling FIPS 201 FICAM solutions for both 13.01 and 13.02 Topologies. The 13.01 topology utilizes a communication module (for, example, the Veridt EWAC) to create a bidirectional communications pathway between the reader and PACS system thus creating a gateway for high assurance validation services and multifactor authentication (see Stealth for details). In the case on the 13.02 topology, Rs-485 bidirectional communication is available directly through the access control panel.

Mobile Physical Access Control System for Rapid Deployment
MPACS is a completely self-contained Physical Access Control System for rapid deployment in emergencies, disaster recovery and other mission critical situations where securing an area must be accomplished swiftly, with minimal effort, and with confidence in a secure outcome. The system deployed is a fully functional Access Control System designed to be a self-contained & compact kit which can be easily stored at any facility and easily. MPACS also minimizes the time duration when guard forces would be needed to provide security until physical access control is operational, thus dramatically reducing overall security costs.
The system is self-contained in rugged Pelican cases for immediate deployment into harsh environments. The unit requires only standard AC power and internet access as appropriate for the particular deployment underway. No cable connections between the door, gate or other perimeter location to be secured are required. Communication between a central access control station located in the Pelican case is achieved wirelessly using 2.4 GHZ point to point communications. And, securing the door requires NO existing infrastructure beyond AC power.
The MPACS consists of two modules: The MPACS control unit and MPACS Expansion Unit.
The MPACS Control Unit consists a complete access control system and four MPACS Door Units. The access control hardware is mounted in the Pelican case on an integrated aluminum frame for secure delivery and operation. The system is prewired and capable of operating up to sixteen doors. MPACS con be configured with a number of PACS systems. Call for details.
Additional Cases accommodating four MPACS Door Units can be deployed into a given situation. Thus, the system can be easily configured for four, eight, twelve or sixteen doors as the situation warrants providing complete flexibility and efficiency for cost effective deployment. The MPACS Control Unit is shipped as an easily assembled kit requiring minimal drilling and accommodates varying site situations for building construction types and door configurations. The MPACS Expansion Unit consists of Four MPACS Door Units. MPACS Door Units contain all of the components to secure the Door.
Veridt’s Bio-Guest Pass is an innovative approach to enhancing the level of security by requiring biometric authentication for visitor access to a facility. The visitor credential is designed for complete compatibility with Veridt Bio-Readers. Bio-Guest Pass uses DESFire EV-1 card technology and visitor enrollment is quick and simple. It requires no special training for the administrator or receptionist insuring the user experience for both card recipient and issuer is a very positive one. The application easily integrates into any PACS system using standard system resources. No software integration is required. The package includes software license, media and hardware for fingerprint capture hardware and DESFire card enrollment.
Enrollment is accomplished using a multiple fingerprint capture routine where the user fingerprint is collected four times to maximize the dataset used in the extraction of data to create the fingerprint template. The user fingerprint data is not saved and is not written to the card. The fingerprint extraction program is FIPS 201 approved.
